My name is Ali Turgutoglu. I’m 13 years old and I’m a Yr8 student in Newtown High School of Performing Arts.
I migrated to Australia 4 years ago from Turkey and have been playing soccer in Marrickville Red Devils Football Club since then as an attacking mid-fielder. Football is my passion. Other than the regular trainings and games, I had also participated in many tournaments and have been refereeing the junior kid games for the last 2 years. Furthermore, I have a personal Instagram account having +24K followers I managed to have less than a year. In my account, I constantly create and edit my own videos and post contents related with soccer.
Recently, I was offered a spot in the team that will attend the IberCup that will take place in Portugal in April 2020. IberCup is currently the most recognized international youth football competition in the world. This is a great opportunity for me to get involved so that I can play against some of the best youth football teams from all over the world, develop my skills further and take one step through my ultimate goal of playing high level soccer in Europe one day.
Unfortunately, this trip is entirely self-funded and the costs for the trip are estimated to be approximately $5000 for a player and that includes flight tickets, tournament participation fees (official games and trainings), one-week accommodation, coaching fees and travel expenses. I’m aiming to raise $1500 by the end of October 2019 to purchase the flight tickets and to raise the rest by the end of February 2020 to secure my spot in the tournament.
However, my parents are not able to afford this trip unless we find financial support from somewhere else. So, my parents have registered with the Australian Sports Foundation and I created this page. I am asking for your king generosity to assist me funding my trip to join the tournament.
Although this is a big ask at short notice, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Please note that any donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
Thanks for reading my project and considering donating.
